Shopify 2.0 – B2B & B2C/DTC Build

Project Overview

Due to our experience with Shopify and ability to consult on complex ERP integrations and custom solutions, we were able to help All Volleyball move on to Shopify and integrate their ERP. We also integrated their product customization tool into the site improving the overall shopping experience for individual players and teams.

The Problem

All Volleyball came to Growth Spark to help migrate to Shopify and create a user-friendly buying experience for both individual players shopping the site as well as teams. Their main pain points were their ERP integration with a third-party vendor and implementing their already-made apparel decorator tool.

The Solution

All Volleyball wanted to take their existing color palette and streamline it for their new website, keeping it as clean and simple as possible. Keeping the focus on the use of black and white as the primary colors in the UI left using their branded red and branded dark grays for areas of callout, action, or accents in the design.

We created a steps-based jersey decorator integration inside the Product Detail Page that allows customers to customize their own jerseys. A design that was unique for this client was building the steps-based jersey decorator integration inside the Product Detail Page.

Our biggest challenges that we faced for this project were the Decorator Integration, Customer Order Implementation, Custom Fees feature, as well as the Discount Ninja Implementation.

Forever pricing program

Trellis, the parent agency of Growth Spark, leveraged Shopify's B2B features and Discount Ninja to offer gated, discounted pricing for members across different tiers. This move, typically seen in larger enterprises, now allows smaller businesses through Growth Spark to compete on a more level playing field with industry giants.

Minimum Order Quantity

All Volleyball drops ship some items directly from vendors. Some of them, like Adidas, have a minimum order quantity requirement. If this MOQ is not met, there is an additional fee passed along to All Volleyball. Trellis, the parent agency of Growth Spark, worked with the All Volleyball team to pass this fee along to their end users, which was previously not being done. Together with Trellis, we developed a custom solution allowing the All Volleyball team to manage the MOQ fee being passed along to their user as well as the messaging that was present on the PDP.
