Shopify is arguably the most trusted platform for eCommerce companies worldwide. With its transparent pricing and in-depth documentation for every use case, you can trust that you are in good hands. If you’re considering migrating to Shopify from your existing platform but you’re not 100% sold on it, let us see if we can help you make that leap! Trust us, it’ll be worth it!

Six reasons why you should migrate to Shopify:

  1. Shopify has transparent pricing
  2. Shopify scales as you grow
  3. SEO is built in
  4. There are plenty of themes to choose from
  5. It’s super intuitive
  6. Ease of use with Apps and Third-Party Integrations
1. Shopify has transparent pricing

Shopify keeps its pricing transparent because they understand how important transparency is for building trust with your customers. You don’t have to worry about hidden fees and you can cancel at any time. Another benefit is you can go up or down a plan as needed. This means Shopify will expand right along with you as your business grows.

2. Shopify scales as you grow

Shopify has different plans for different use cases. There are six different plans that you can choose from.

Shopify Starter
Sell products through social and messaging apps

Shopify Lite
Sell products without maintaining an online store

Shopify Basic
Everything you need to create your store, ship products, and process payments

Shopify Plan
Level up your business with professional reporting and more staff accounts

Advanced Shopify
Get the best of Shopify with custom reporting and our lowest transaction fees

Shopify Plus
All-in-one solution for high-volume businesses

As your business grows, you can scale up to these higher tiers and the higher you go, the more access you’ll need with your newfound growth and scale of your business.

3. SEO is built in

Shopify's built-in SEO features include:

  • Page redirects
  • Optimal page loading speeds
  • Customize URL slugs
  • Easily add alt text to any image from the file library and the editor, both

One reason switching to Shopify is good on SEO is Shopify themes that come from the theme store are already mobile friendly. Responsive websites rank higher in search engines.

4. Plenty of themes to choose from

As of the date of this article, there are 119 different types of themes that a merchant can choose from. Eleven of those them are 100% free. All themes in the Shopify theme store have been vetted by in-house developers, so you can trust that what you’re getting is legit.

A great thing that Shopify allows you to do is test-drive a theme before purchasing it! If you’re thinking of getting a new theme for your store, you can choose one, test it out, completely customize it as if you bought it, and if you like it, you can buy it and all of your work will be saved.

5. It’s super intuitive

Shopify is very easy to use and also quick to learn. The platform is organized in a way that put store owners first. The benefit is it requires no technical know-how to get started. If there are things you’re stuck on, you can simply look up your question in their incredibly extensive documentation library.

6. Ease of use with Apps and Third-Party Integrations

Anything that Shopify natively cannot do, 90% of the time, there’s an app that can! Apps, similar to Plugins if you’re coming from WordPress, are created specifically for Shopify stores. All of the apps that come from Shopify go through a diligent internal review process. Once the app is approved, it’s launched to the Shopify App Store ready for the public. In addition to Shopify apps, you can also use third-party apps and connect them to your Shopify store quickly and easily.

We love migrations at Growth Spark!

About 50% of our clients have come to us to handle their migration to Shopify! We follow a specific process to get you migrated over with ease. Migrating products when you re-platform your website can be a bit daunting. We totally get it! That’s why we leverage a tool called Matrixify to make the process easier and more efficient.

First, we gather information about the products you have to migrate so we can understand what your product and category structure looks like, as well as what custom fields exist for your products that need to be migrated over. This is crucial for us to build a migration strategy.

Then, we put together a template Excel file for you to fill out that captures all of your required product details within the architecture framework needed to import your data into Shopify. We will work with you to train you on filling out this file so you can complete this task with confidence!

Once the file is complete, we use the Shopify Matrixify app to upload your products and collections to your new Shopify instance. We do this in small batches to ensure there are no snags or hangups in the process.

Finally, we work with you to validate that the data has ported over correctly and the collections are created as expected.

When it comes to migrations, we’re buckled in and ready to get you over as quickly and efficiently as possible. Our clients Fernway and Madbory Road came to us to migrate from WordPress to Shopify.
